University and City of Pittsburgh Police Announce Street Closings in Oakland for Sunday Super Bowl Celebration
PITTSBURGH—The City of Pittsburgh Police and the University of Pittsburgh Police today announced traffic pattern changes in Oakland from 9 p.m. until midnight Sunday, Feb. 5, in anticipation of Super Bowl celebrations.
The changes are:
• Forbes Avenue will be closed between McKee Place and Bigelow Boulevard to all traffic except emergency vehicles;
• Bigelow Boulevard will be closed between Fifth and Forbes avenues; and
• Port Authority buses will be rerouted to Fifth Avenue.
Persons celebrating will be directed to Bigelow Boulevard between Fifth and Forbes avenues. Celebrants are asked to remain on public sidewalks and public property, and are reminded that open containers of alcohol are not permitted in public.
City of Pittsburgh and University of Pittsburgh Police will have extra personnel on duty that night.
