Pitt in Hollywood to Host Writer/Director Melissa Martin And Producer Adrienne Wehr Oct. 13
PITTSBURGH-Director and writer Melissa Martin, along with film producer Adrienne Wehr, will deliver a lecture following the screening of their movie The Bread, My Sweet, which was filmed in Pittsburgh's Strip District in 2000. The screening will take place at 6:30 p.m. and the lecture at 8:30 p.m. Oct. 13, in Room 324, Cathedral of Learning, 4200 Fifth Ave., Oakland. This event is free and open to the public.
Martin, a playwright, teamed up with Wehr, actress and former producer of Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood, to film their movie The Bread, My Sweet. The film has won several awards, including Best Feature in 2002 at the Stony Brook Film Festival and the Grand Jury Prize and Best of Show at the 2001 Worldfest-Houston film festival.
Bread, filmed in Pittsburgh's Strip District, is one of the most successful independent films to come out of the city in the past 10 years. The film, starring Scott Baio and Kristin Minter, is more popularly known as A Wedding for Bella.
