Pitt's Africana Studies Department Presents Panel Discussion "Hurricane Katrina: The Gentrification of New Orleans"

PITTSBURGH-A panel discussion and public forum titled "Hurricane Katrina: The Gentrification of New Orleans after Katrina, Rita, and other Related Issues" will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 11 in the auditorium of Pitt's Frick Fine Arts Building, Schenley Drive, Oakland.

Cecil Blake, Pitt associate professor and chair of African Studies, will moderate the discussion. Panelists include Larry Davis, the Donald M. Henderson Professor and dean of Pitt's School of Social Work; Harvey White, associate professor in Pitt's Graduate School of Public and International Affairs; and Joseph Trotter, Mellon Professor of History and head of the history department at Carnegie Mellon University.
