Pitt's Global Studies Program To Present Lecture by Mazyar Lotfalian, A Professor of Middle Eastern Contemporary Issues

PITTSBURGH-Visiting Pitt professor Mazyar Lotfalian will present a lecture outlining the progression and current state of the Iranian scientific community at 5:30 p.m. April 2, 4130 Posvar Hall, 230 S. Bouquet St., Oakland. The lecture is titled "The Iranian Scientific Community and Its Diaspora After the Islamic Revolution."

Lotfalian holds the Visiting Professorship in Contemporary International Issues in Pitt's University Center for International Studies and was a resident scholar at the University of California at Santa Cruz's Center for Cultural Studies prior to coming to Pitt.

The free public event will include refreshments and a post-lecture discussion. It is hosted by the Global Studies Program and cosponsored by the Matthew B. Ridgway Center for International Security Studies in Pitt's Graduate School for Public and International Affairs and the Consortium for Educational Resources for Islamic Education.
