Pitt's College of General Studies to Hold Adult Student Information Day

PITTSBURGH Adults who are considering beginning or reentering college are invited to attend a free Adult Student Information Day from 1 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at the University of Pittsburgh's College of General Studies, on the fourth floor of the Cathedral of Learning.

Attendees can learn about undergraduate degree programs, certificate programs, and postbaccalaureate studies. Counselors and academic advisors will meet with individuals to discuss admission and transfer requirements, financial aid, career services, and support services for adult students.

A workshop titled "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Students" will be offered two times during the event, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 to 7 p.m. Sherry

Miller-Brown, director of the McCarl Center for Nontraditional Student Success, will answer questions, address fears, and offer tips for being a successful adult student.

The Information Day and workshop are free. Reservations are recommended for the workshop.
