Pitt launching electric power engineering certificate

This fall the University of Pittsburgh is launching a new certificate program in electric power engineering aimed at professional engineers in the power industry or recent electrical engineering grads.

The 15-credit course builds on principles of electric power engineering, enhanced reliability of electric power grid infrastructure, renewable energy integration, power electronics and smart grids, according to the university. The program is part of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering’s graduate studies within the Swanson School of Engineering.

The program was developed in coordination with industry.

The course is being offered both on campus and through the school’s distance-learning network.
