Pitt to Host Sept. 23 Panel Discussion on Development

PITTSBURGH--On the eve of the G-20 Summit, Pitt will host a panel discussion on issues affecting developing countries-bringing light to concerns affecting some of the most economically challenged parts of the world. The free public event will be held at noon Sept. 23 in the University Club, Ballroom B, 123 University Place, Oakland-RSVPs are required at www.join.cgdev.org/site/Calendar?view=Detail&id=103181.

The panel will include Tim Adams, former undersecretary for International Affairs, U.S. Department of the Treasury; Nancy Birdsall, president of the Center for Global Development, a Washington-based think tank; Don Kaberuka, president of the African Development Bank; and David Lane, president and CEO of the poverty-reduction advocacy campaign ONE. Louis Picard, a Pitt Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA) professor, will moderate.

A light lunch will be provided.

The event is sponsored by GSPIA, the Center for Global Development, and ONE.
