PITTSBURGH, March 22 -- The University of Pittsburgh Nationality Rooms Program will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Greek and Syria-Lebanon rooms at the 36th International Cabaret Ball on Saturday, April 21, at

6 p.m., in the William Pitt Union Assembly Room, Oakland.

Kweilin Nassar, development director at the Carnegie Science Center, will be the evening's emcee. Greek and Syria-Lebanon cultures will highlight the Cabaret and dancing.

The Nationality Council, which sponsors the event annually, is the governing body of the Nationality Room committees that raise funds to provide summer scholarships for Pitt students to study abroad. Nationality Room scholarships in 2001 will enable 34 students to study in Africa, Argentina, Austria, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Peoples Republic of China, Cuba, Czech Republic, France, Greece, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Nepal, Poland, Puerto Rico, Slovakia, Ukraine, and Yerevan.

Tickets for the ball, which include a reception, dinner, and dancing, are $25 per person, $15 for students. Call 412-624-6150 by April 13 to order tickets.
