Pitt to Host 20th Annual Polish Festival Nov. 13
PITTSBURGH-- The University of Pittsburgh Nationality Rooms and the Polish Nationality Room Committee will host a Polish Fest from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, in the Cathedral of Learning Commons Room, 4200 Fifth Ave., Oakland. The event is free and open to the public.
The 20th annual Polish Fest, held to promote and celebrate Polish culture and traditions, will include dance performances by Lawrence Kozlowski and the Lajkonik folk dancers. The family-oriented event also will feature crafts for children, art demonstrations, cultural displays, folk arts, egg decorating, and Polish imports.
Items to be sold at the festival include inlaid wooden boxes, wood carvings, and Polish plates. Proceeds from the festival benefit the Polish Room Scholarship Fund.
