PITTSBURGH-The University of Pittsburgh and the Salvation Army are teaming up to celebrate Christmas Day with approximately 400 adults and children by hosting the second-annual Christmas Day at Pitt: A Salvation Army Christmas Dinner for the Homeless and Needy, from noon to 3 p.m. Dec. 25 in Pitt's Marketplace restaurant, Litchfield Towers, 3955 Forbes Ave., Oakland.

The dinner will be prepared by volunteer staff from the University Sodexho Dining Services, and volunteers from Pitt's Volunteer Pool will welcome guests and serve the meal.

Each guest will receive a gift bag, which will include a hat-and-glove set donated by a University employee during the Office of Community Relations December hat-and-glove drive. In addition, the children in attendance will be given an "Angel Tree" gift supplied by Pitt staff from the Offices of the Chancellor, Provost, Community Relations, Governmental Relations, Institutional Advancement, Human Resources, and the Institutional Review Board.

The meal is funded by Pitt's Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and University Sodexho Dining Services.
