Newsmaker: Dr. Nancy E. Davidson
Noteworthy: Members of the Philadelphia-based American Association for Cancer Research elected Davidson as the association's president-elect for 2015-16. She officially will become president-elect at the association's annual meeting April 18-22 in Philadelphia, and assume the presidency in April 2016.

Background: Before joining the University of Pittsburgh in 2009, Davidson was professor of oncology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore and director of the Breast Cancer Program at Johns Hopkins Oncology Center. She serves on the scientific advisory boards for several cancer-related philanthropic organizations, including the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Education: Bachelor's degree in molecular biology from Wellesley College in Wellesley, Mass., and a medical degree from Harvard Medical School in Boston.
