Fall of the Berlin Wall Is Subject of Pitt Symposium Nov. 5

PITTSBURGH-The University of Pittsburgh will host a panel discussion titled "Reflections of the Fall of the Berlin Wall: Twenty Years Later," from noon to 5 p.m. Nov. 5 in 4130 Posvar Hall, 230 S. Bouquet St., Oakland.

Presentations will be given by Alberta Sbragia, Mark A. Nordenberg University Chair,

Jean Monnet Chair ad personam, and director of the European Union Center of Excellence and European Studies Center; Robert Hayden, director of the Center for Russian and East European Studies; Jonathan Harris, professor in the Department of Political Science; Julia Gray, professor in the Department of Political Science; Arpad von Klimo, visiting professor in the Department of History; Sabine Von Dirke, professor in the Department of Germanic Languages and Literature; and David Shribman, executive editor of the "Pittsburgh Post-Gazette."

The free public symposium is sponsored by Pitt's University Center for International Studies, Center for Russian and East European Studies, and European Union Center of Excellence/European Studies Center.

A light lunch will be provided, and winners of the undergraduate Essay Competition Awards will be announced following the symposium.
