Concert at Pitt to celebrate organist's legacy

A concert scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday at Heinz Memorial Chapel will celebrate the legacy and contributions of Robert Lord, who was professor emeritus and university organist at Pitt, and served at the chapel for more than 40 years.

The concert will feature the organ music of Franck, Lord, Langlais and Tournemire performed by three of Lord's protégés. Current and former University of Pittsburgh officials and Lord's family also will pay tribute to Lord, who died July 24 at age 84.

The concert is free and open to the public.
