Six recent graduates from the University of Pittsburgh have been selected as finalists for the Presidential Management Fellowships, sponsored by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management.
The two-year, paid fellowships connect students with advanced degrees with federal agencies to provide early-career experience.
In the last five years, Pitt's Graduate School of Public and International Affairs has produced 21 finalists for the fellowship.
“These results are a tribute to our students, of course, but also to the efforts that our staff and faculty have made in recent years to prepare our students for the competition,” John Keeler, dean of the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs said in a statement.
Previously selected fellows from Pitt have served at the Office of the Chief Naval Operations, the Veterans Health Administration, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Finalists include:
- William Cole, master of public administration with a concentration in public and nonprofit management
- Harrison Grafos, PhD in public and international affairs
- Lauren McChesney, master of international development
- Pieter Mueller, master of public and international affairs
- Bryan Murray, juris doctor with a certificate in health law
- Sarah Posner, juris doctor with a certificate of advanced study in international and comparative law
